Title: Physical Therapist (PT)
Location: Portales, New Mexico
Duration: 13 Weeks (High possibility of extension)
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Shift: Days | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Position Overview:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a compassionate and patient-focused Physical Therapist to provide rehabilitation services in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive rural healthcare environment while helping patients improve mobility, restore function, and achieve maximum independence.
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive patient evaluations and assessments
Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals
Deliver evidence-based physical therapy interventions
Improve patient mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and functional independence
Provide treatment in both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation settings
Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed
Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, injury prevention, and recovery strategies
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other healthcare professionals
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatments, and discharge summaries
Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and quality improvement initiatives
Maintain compliance with facility policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements
Ensure a safe treatment environment and follow infection prevention protocols
Required Qualifications:
Active New Mexico Physical Therapist License
Current BLS/BCLS Certification
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program
Strong clinical reasoning and patient assessment skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation
Familiarity with Meditech EMR
Experience in a rural healthcare environment

Additional Information:
New graduates and therapists with less than one year of experience are encouraged to apply
Holiday coverage not required
No bilingual requirement
Active state licensure required prior to start date
