Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – Physician Services

Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks

Schedule

• Monday to Friday
• 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• 40 hours/week (5 x 8-hour shifts)
• No weekends, holidays, on-call, or floating required

Position Overview

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) provides both clinical and administrative support within a cardiovascular practice. This role involves assisting physicians, performing diagnostic procedures, managing patient flow, and maintaining accurate documentation while delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare exam and treatment rooms, ensuring availability of supplies and instruments
• Assist physicians during patient examinations and procedures
• Record vital signs and update patient medical records
• Perform diagnostic procedures including EKG, PFT, audiometry, and vision testing (Titmus)
• Conduct lab-related tasks such as phlebotomy, UDS, and BAT (post competency validation)
• Triage patient calls and respond appropriately
• Apply and monitor Holter and event monitors
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
• Assist with billing and collections processes as needed
• Ensure patient confidentiality and regulatory compliance
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
• Adapt care delivery based on patient needs, including age, culture, and communication barriers

Required Skills & Experience

• 2–4 years of relevant experience
• Proficiency in vital signs measurement, EKG, and cardiac monitoring devices
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems

Education & Certification Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (preferred)
• Current AHA BLS Certification

Required Certifications (one of the following):

• CMA (AAMA)
• CMA (NHA or NCCT)
• RMA (AMT or NAHP)
• NCMA or AMCA
