Pediatric Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN – Inpatient Pediatrics)

Location - Syracuse, NY

Duration - 14 Weeks

Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join an Inpatient Pediatric Behavioral Health Unit. The ideal candidate will have behavioral health experience, strong pediatric nursing skills, and experience working in a trauma center or similarly sized acute care hospital.

Assignment Details:

• Inpatient Pediatric Behavioral Health Unit
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Floating to other pediatric units and locations may be required

Required Qualifications:

• Active New York State Registered Nurse License
• BLS Certification
• Minimum 2 years of Behavioral Health nursing experience
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent acute care experience within the last 2 years
• Experience in a hospital of similar size and acuity

Preferred Qualifications:

• Level I Trauma Center experience
• Level II Trauma Center experience
• Epic Electronic Medical Record experience

Required Clinical Skills:

• Pediatric Behavioral Health Nursing
• Acute Care Nursing Assessment
• Crisis Intervention and De-escalation
• Care Planning and Coordination
• Behavioral Health Patient Monitoring
• Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric behavioral health patients
• Perform assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Monitor patient safety and behavioral status
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and multidisciplinary care teams
• Deliver high-quality patient care with minimal supervision
