Varied weekends may be required.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse – Quality Assurance Nurse / Infection Preventionist for a healthcare facility in Flagstaff, Arizona. The selected candidate will oversee quality assurance initiatives, staff education, compliance monitoring, and infection prevention activities to ensure adherence to state, federal, and VA regulations.
Responsibilities
Implement and maintain quality assurance policies and procedures in compliance with nursing home regulations and evidence-based practices
Conduct audits, interviews, observations, and data analysis to monitor compliance across departments
Review monthly CASPER reports and develop QAPI Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) as needed
Prepare and distribute reports, statistical summaries, and compliance analyses to facility staff
Assist management with corrective action plans and monitor deficiency correction plans
Ensure compliance with state, federal, and Veterans Administration regulations
Investigate incidents related to non-compliance, abuse, neglect, or mistreatment
Coordinate facility readiness for regulatory surveys
Lead Quality Assurance Committee and Infection Control Committee meetings
Develop and conduct staff education and re-education programs related to QA and compliance
Maintain training records and regulatory documentation
Perform infection surveillance and daily infection control rounds
Track and trend infections using McGeer and non-McGeer criteria
Stay updated with CMS, CDC, and infection prevention guidelines and practices
Requirements
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Arizona required
Infection Preventionist Certification preferred prior to submission and required before start date
DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card required
Valid Arizona Driver’s License required for in-state travel
2-Step TB Test preferred
Strong knowledge of OBRA regulations, QAPI processes, infection prevention, and nursing home compliance standards
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff and leadership
