Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist – Breast Imaging
Location: Syracuse, NY
Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Ultrasound Technologist with Breast Imaging experience to join a diagnostic imaging team in Syracuse, New York. This role is responsible for independently performing high-quality sonographic examinations, maintaining daily ultrasound operations, and communicating findings effectively with radiologists and clinical teams.
The ideal candidate will have strong OB/GYN and abdominal ultrasound expertise, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations independently using sonographic equipment
Conduct breast ultrasound imaging procedures with accuracy and attention to detail
Perform OB/GYN and abdominal sonography examinations according to departmental protocols
Obtain and review patient medical histories relevant to examinations
Identify and differentiate between normal and pathological findings using clinical judgment
Communicate preliminary findings and observations to radiologists
Maintain daily sonography department workflow and scheduling coordination
Perform equipment maintenance, quality assurance checks, and troubleshooting as needed
Ensure patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality during examinations
Maintain accurate patient documentation and imaging records
Follow all departmental, hospital, and regulatory standards and procedures
Requirements
Graduate of an ultrasound program accredited by CHEA and USDOE
RDMS Certification in Abdomen and OB/GYN required
Minimum one year of ultrasound experience required
Breast imaging experience required
Strong knowledge of sonographic anatomy, pathology, and imaging techniques
Ability to exercise independent judgment during examinations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Must complete pre-employment health clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in hospital or outpatient imaging settings preferred
Strong patient care and workflow management skills
