Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – ED/Peds ED

Location: Syracuse, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Nights – 6 x 12-Hour Shifts Biweekly
Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every Other Weekend and Some Holidays Required

Compensation:

  • Traveler Pay: $65–$70/hr based on experience
  • Local Pay: $40–$47/hr based on experience

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with Emergency Department (ED) and/or Pediatric Emergency Department experience to provide high-quality patient care within a fast-paced acute care environment. The ideal candidate will be skilled in IV placement, phlebotomy, and patient-centered care while collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform patient care functions in an acute care emergency setting with minimal orientation and supervision
  • Assist with IV placement and phlebotomy procedures
  • Monitor patient conditions and report changes to the healthcare team
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, patients, and families to support quality patient care
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation and clinical records
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced ED/Pediatric ED environment
  • Support patient safety, infection prevention, and facility protocols
  • Assist with treatments, procedures, and routine nursing care as directed
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff

Required Qualifications:

Licensure & Certifications:

  • Current New York State LPN License
  • Current CPR Certification required

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of LPN experience required
  • Emergency Department and/or Pediatric ED experience preferred
  • Prior inpatient experience preferred
  • Experience with IV placement and phlebotomy required
