Job Title: Respiratory Therapist

Location: Hyannis, MA

Shift:
• Day Shift
• 3x12 Hour Shifts
• 36 Hours Weekly

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Responsibilities:
• Identify acute and chronic cardiopulmonary dysfunction
• Initiate and provide ventilatory support using lung protective strategies
• Recommend ventilator settings, monitor, troubleshoot, and appropriately wean patients
• Follow therapist-driven protocols, procedures, and department policies
• Perform diagnostic procedures including ABG draws and sputum specimen collection
• Interpret ABGs and perform bedside spirometry and capnography
• Monitor respiratory conditions during patient transport within hospital and to outside facilities
• Attend Codes and Rapid Response Teams (RRTs)
• Assist with conscious sedation, intubations, and bronchoscopies
• Administer oxygen therapy, Heliox, high flow oxygen, and aerosolized medications
• Assess and maintain artificial airways including tracheostomy and laryngectomy tubes
• Perform suctioning and assist with tracheostomy tube changes
• Provide trach care in collaboration with nursing staff
• Assess and administer airway clearance therapies including PEP and CPT
• Maintain and troubleshoot non-invasive ventilation
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and provide clinical expertise
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation and daily charge reconciliation
• Train and orient respiratory staff, students, and departments as needed
• Maintain respiratory equipment, supplies, and stock
• Participate in educational programs and professional development initiatives

Requirements:
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English required
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) required
• Massachusetts Respiratory Therapy License required
• Current BLS Certification required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification required
• Minimum one-year critical care experience preferred
