Location: Great Falls, Montana
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift, 3 x 12-hour shifts per week

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Step Down Registered Nurse to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced acute care environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong critical care assessment skills and experience managing complex medical and surgical patient populations requiring continuous monitoring and advanced nursing interventions.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care for PCU, Step Down, and Medical-Surgical patients
• Monitor and manage patients with cardiac, respiratory, renal, and post-surgical conditions
• Care for patients requiring telemetry monitoring and short-term ventilatory support
• Manage complex therapies including central lines, arterial lines, chest tubes, nasogastric tubes, multiple IV infusions, and continuous bladder irrigation
• Administer and monitor high-risk IV medications such as Heparin, Diltiazem, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, and Dopamine
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Support discharge planning and provide patient and family education
• Act as a clinical resource and assist with precepting and mentoring staff as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in PCU, Step Down, or acute care nursing
• Active Montana Registered Nurse license
• Basic Life Support certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification
• Strong telemetry and EKG interpretation skills
• Experience with invasive lines and advanced monitoring equipment, including arterial lines and chest tubes

Preferred Qualifications

• Pediatric care experience
• ENPC and TNCC certifications
• Experience with post–cardiac catheterization patients
• Familiarity with ventilatory support and critical care interventions
