Job Title: PCB Design Engineer

Location: Remote (CST Time Zone)

Duration: Approximately 23 Weeks

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced PCB Design Engineer to support advanced AR product development initiatives. This role will focus on designing complex PCB layouts utilizing cutting-edge technologies and miniaturization solutions for dense electronic form factors. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams and external suppliers to deliver high-quality PCB designs from concept through tape-out.

Responsibilities:

Project Management & Execution:

  • Manage multiple complex PCB layout projects simultaneously while providing timely project status updates
  • Lead PCB designs from project kickoff through tape-out for rigid, rigid-flex, and flex PCB designs
  • Coordinate and facilitate project meetings including kickoffs, placement reviews, constraint reviews, and design reviews
  • Maintain and update engineering tool templates, metadata, configuration data, and design rules
  • Ensure design verification and documentation compliance throughout project lifecycles

Technical Expertise & Problem Solving:

  • Apply strong electrical engineering knowledge related to power distribution, high-speed circuitry, and RF signal design
  • Identify project risks, bottlenecks, and workflow challenges proactively
  • Collaborate with leadership and technical program teams to propose alternative design and workflow solutions
  • Support miniaturization strategies and provide practical design solutions for compact electronic products
  • Ensure designs meet performance, manufacturability, and quality requirements

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Supplier Engagement:

  • Partner with Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Technical Program Managers, and other cross-functional teams to resolve design challenges
  • Collaborate with DFM teams to validate supplier and manufacturing requirements during project launch
  • Work with external suppliers and quality/process engineering teams to resolve manufacturability issues and support high-yield production builds
  • Maintain effective communication across internal and external stakeholders throughout project execution

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in complex PCB design required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience using Allegro PCB Design Tools (version 23.1 or newer) required
  • Strong understanding of the mechanical aspects of electronics and PCB design
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to manage multiple projects within a fast-paced engineering environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience implementing miniaturization solutions in dense form-factor products such as wearables or mobile devices preferred
  • Experience with advanced PCB technologies including rigid-flex and flex PCB designs preferred
