Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown

Location: Akron, OH
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift Details:

  • Night Shift | 3x12 Hours
  • 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Every other holiday required

Job Summary

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown Registered Nurse to join a leading acute care hospital in Akron, OH. The ideal candidate will be skilled in managing high-acuity patients in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate strong critical care judgment and clinical expertise.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct patient care in the PCU/Stepdown unit
  • Monitor, assess, and manage patients with complex medical conditions
  • Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
  • Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to changes in patient status
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation

Requirements

  • Minimum 18 months recent PCU/Stepdown experience required
  • Minimum 18 months of permanent acute care experience prior to travel assignments
  • Active RN license (Ohio or Compact State) required at time of submission
  • Current AHA BLS certification required
  • Current AHA ACLS certification required
  • Must successfully complete ECG rhythm recognition and SafeMedicate testing during orientation
