Compensation

Position Overview

A healthcare facility in Atlanta, Georgia is seeking an experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with oncology experience for a travel assignment. The LCSW will provide psychosocial support, counseling, crisis intervention, and care coordination for oncology patients and their families within a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments for oncology patients and families
  • Provide counseling, emotional support, crisis intervention, and coping strategies
  • Assist patients with adjustment to diagnosis, treatment, and end-of-life concerns
  • Coordinate discharge planning and referrals to community resources
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in accordance with facility policies
  • Advocate for patient rights and access to supportive services
  • Support patients experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and treatment-related stress

Qualifications

  • Active Georgia Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license required
  • Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent LCSW experience within the specialty required
  • Minimum 1 year of oncology experience required
  • Prior hospital-based social work experience strongly preferred
  • Strong communication, crisis intervention, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills required
