Position Overview

A healthcare facility in John Day, Oregon is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) for a 13-week contract assignment. The ideal candidate will have strong acute care experience and a passion for delivering compassionate, patient-centered care to mothers and newborns throughout the labor and delivery process.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to labor and delivery patients
• Monitor maternal and fetal wellbeing during labor and delivery
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Assist physicians during labor, delivery, and emergency procedures
• Educate patients and families on labor, postpartum recovery, and newborn care
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and medical records
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure quality patient outcomes
• Respond effectively in high-pressure and emergency situations

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
• Acute care hospital experience preferred
• Strong communication and patient care skills
• Ability to work night shifts in a fast-paced clinical environment
