Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced ICU Step Down Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized care for patients transitioning from intensive care to a progressive step-down environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing high-acuity patients requiring continuous monitoring, advanced clinical assessment, and rapid intervention when necessary.

This role requires expertise in caring for medically complex adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced acute care hospital setting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to ICU Step Down patients requiring close monitoring
  • Monitor and manage cardiac monitors, ventilators, feeding tubes, tracheostomies, and catheters
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor for clinical deterioration
  • Respond appropriately to rapid response and code situations
  • Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
  • Perform IV insertion and phlebotomy procedures
  • Assist with conscious sedation procedures and patient monitoring
  • Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Ensure compliance with hospital safety standards and patient care protocols
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a high-acuity environment

Required Qualifications

  • Active New York State RN License required
  • AHA BLS Certification required
  • AHA ACLS Certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU or Medical/Surgical Step-Down nursing experience required
  • Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience required
  • Minimum 2 years of conscious sedation experience required
  • Strong clinical assessment and emergency response skills
  • Experience caring for adult and geriatric patient populations preferred
