Location: Bedford, Indiana
Facility Type: Short-Term Acute Care Hospital
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Schedule

• Shift Type: Night Shift
• Shift Schedule: 4x12-Hour Shifts
• Hours: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
• Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd Weekend
• On-Call Requirement: Typically 1–2 on-call weekend shifts per 6-week schedule

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a travel assignment in Bedford, Indiana. This role is ideal for a respiratory care professional with strong critical care experience who is comfortable working across ICU, PCU, Med-Surg, and Emergency Department settings.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing complex respiratory conditions, ventilator support, emergency airway procedures, and patient transport in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Respiratory Care

• Provide respiratory therapy services for patients with:
  • COPD
  • Asthma
  • COVID-19
  • ARDS
  • RSV
• Deliver high-quality respiratory care across ICU, PCU, and Med-Surg units

Ventilator Management

• Manage and troubleshoot mechanical ventilators and respiratory equipment including:
  • BiPAP
  • CPAP
  • SIMV
• Monitor ventilator alarms, patient response, and assist with weaning protocols

Emergency & Critical Care Support

• Assist with emergency department respiratory procedures
• Support intubation and extubation procedures
• Assist with high-risk deliveries when needed
• Participate in emergency airway management and critical response situations

Diagnostics & Monitoring

• Perform Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) collection and interpretation
• Conduct basic EKG procedures as required
• Monitor patient respiratory status and communicate changes promptly

Patient Transport

• Assist with interdepartmental and ambulance patient transports requiring respiratory support

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience required
• 5 years preferred
• Experience with Cerner EMR required
• Experience using Hamilton ventilators and BiPAP systems preferred

Licensure & Certifications

• Active Indiana Respiratory Therapist License required at time of submission
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Current BLS Certification required
• Current ACLS Certification required
• NRP and PALS preferred
