Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
Unit: Renal – Medical/Surgical & Transplant Care Unit
Contract Duration: 8 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift | 3x12 Hours (36 Hours/Week)
Weekend Requirement: Every Third Weekend
Holiday Requirement: Required
Floating: Required

Job Summary

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Renal/Medical-Surgical for a travel assignment in a specialized renal and transplant care unit. This role involves caring for patients with kidney disease, dialysis needs, transplant recovery, and complex medical-surgical conditions in a high-acuity inpatient setting.

The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and experience working with medically complex patients in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to renal, transplant, and medical-surgical patients
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Monitor kidney transplant patients during recovery and ongoing treatment
• Perform peritoneal dialysis care (manual and cycler methods) as required
• Care for patients with complex renal and multisystem medical conditions
• Monitor telemetry patients when assigned
• Administer medications and evaluate patient responses
• Accurately document patient care within EMR systems
• Collaborate with nephrologists, transplant teams, and interdisciplinary staff
• Educate patients and families regarding renal disease management and transplant recovery
• Maintain infection prevention and patient safety standards
• Float to other units based on staffing needs
• Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based nursing initiatives
• Ensure compliance with ANA standards and state nursing regulations

Required Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN License or Compact RN License required
• Diploma in Nursing required (BSN preferred)
• Current AHA BLS Certification required
• Previous Medical-Surgical or Renal nursing experience preferred
• Strong renal, dialysis, or transplant care knowledge highly preferred
• Ability to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays
• Excellent critical thinking and patient assessment skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Flexibility to float between units as needed
