Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Pulmonary Unit (Med-Surg)

Location: Gainesville, FL
Employment Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Compensation

Hourly rate based on experience: $29.73/hr – $43.20/hr

Sign-On Bonus:

• $10,000 (Day Shift)
• $20,000 (Night Shift)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Pulmonary Unit within a Med-Surgical setting. This unit cares for adult patients with a variety of respiratory and pulmonary conditions in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment.

The RN will be responsible for delivering direct patient care, performing clinical assessments, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Unit Details

• 45-bed Med-Surg Pulmonary Unit
• High-acuity respiratory patient population
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 7:1
• Team-based, collaborative care model

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing monitoring
• Develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, treatments, and medications
• Advocate for patient safety and quality outcomes
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with clinical standards
• Utilize hospital resources efficiently

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care RN experience (within the last 2 years)
• Active Florida RN License or Compact RN License
  • Compact license holders must obtain Florida licensure within 60 days
• Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required
• BLS (AHA) certification required prior to start
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required within 30 days of employment

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Experience in pulmonary or Med-Surg nursing

Candidate Requirements

• Must reside within a commutable distance of the facility
• In-person interview required prior to offer (may include shadowing and facility tour)
• Must be comfortable managing a 7:1 patient ratio
