Job Title: Ophthalmic Technician
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks (High possibility of extension)
Hours: 40 Hours/Week

Shift Details:

• Monday–Friday
• 7:45 AM – 4:30 PM
• Includes a 30-minute unpaid break

Compensation:

• Local Pay: $1,400/week
• Travel Pay: $1,835.20/week

Note: Travel and housing reimbursements are not provided.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to support ophthalmology providers in delivering high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent patient communication abilities, and experience assisting with ophthalmic examinations and procedures in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist ophthalmologists and clinical staff with patient examinations and procedures
• Obtain patient medical histories and document relevant clinical information
• Perform preliminary ophthalmic testing and diagnostic procedures
• Prepare patients for examinations and treatments
• Conduct visual acuity testing and other ophthalmic assessments
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
• Ensure examination rooms and ophthalmic equipment are properly prepared and maintained
• Educate patients regarding procedures, testing, and follow-up care instructions
• Follow infection control, patient safety, and clinical care standards

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of recent Ophthalmic Technician experience required
• Ophthalmic Technician Certification required
• Strong communication and patient care skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced outpatient clinical environment
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians and healthcare teams
