Job Title: Speech Therapist (Acute Care)

Type: Local & Travel Accepted
Shift: Day Shift | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Varies)
Schedule: 13 Weeks | Includes 2–4 weekends per 4 weeks
Position Overview:
The Speech Therapist provides acute care services to patients across the hospital, including ICU and medical-surgical units, focusing on speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 15–18 months recent SLP experience – Required
• Active Georgia SLP License – Required
• CCC-SLP Certification – Required
• AHA BLS Certification – Required
• Acute care experience – Preferred
• MBS/FEES proficiency – Preferred (not required)
Responsibilities:
• Evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
• Manage dysphagia cases including ICU and medically complex patients
• Provide therapy for neurological, stroke, respiratory, and post-surgical conditions
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Conduct bedside and clinical swallow evaluations
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and rehab teams
• Document patient progress and treatment outcomes
• Support hospital-wide acute care rehabilitation services
