Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist (PET/CT)
Location: Mission Viejo, CA
Duration: 13 Weeks (Contract)
Shift: Day Shift – 4x10 Hours (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
Hours: 40 Hours/Week

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT/PET Tech) to join a dynamic imaging team in an acute care setting. The technologist will primarily perform PET imaging while supporting Nuclear Medicine procedures as needed. The ideal candidate will ensure high-quality diagnostic imaging, patient safety, and adherence to clinical protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Perform PET/CT and Nuclear Medicine imaging procedures according to established protocols
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately
  • Operate imaging equipment and ensure optimal image quality
  • Monitor patient condition during procedures and respond appropriately
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure timely image transfer to PACS
  • Follow radiation safety, infection control, and departmental policies
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams for optimal patient care
  • Maintain equipment, perform quality checks, and ensure proper functionality
  • Float between PET and Nuclear Medicine departments as required

Requirements

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of Nuclear Medicine experience required
  • Minimum 6 months of PET experience required (mandatory)
  • First-time travelers accepted with 2+ years of total experience

Certifications

  • ARRT (Nuclear Medicine) or NMTCB certification required
  • Active California State License required
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA required

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of PET/CT and Nuclear Medicine procedures
  • Experience with Siemens equipment preferred
  • Experience with EPIC charting system preferred
  • Excellent patient care and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment

Schedule & Work Conditions

  • Variable start times between 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM
  • 4x10-hour or 5x8-hour schedule based on department needs
  • Weekend requirements may exceed every other weekend
  • On-call responsibilities required (post-shift and rotating weekends)
  • Floating between departments as needed
