Position Title: Dental Hygienist (Contract Assignment)
Location: Columbia, SC (29203)
Duration: 13 Weeks

Schedule:

  • Day Shift
  • Monday–Thursday: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Friday: 7:30 AM – 12:30 PM
  • Total Hours: ~39–45 hours/week
  • Weekends: Not required
  • Holidays: Closed on major holidays

Eligibility Requirement:

  • Candidates must reside outside a 100-mile radius of Columbia, SC

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to support a high-volume outpatient dental clinic. This role focuses on delivering preventive oral care, patient education, and clinical support in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine dental cleanings (prophylaxis)
  • Remove plaque, tartar, and stains from teeth
  • Polish tooth surfaces following cleaning procedures
  • Apply topical fluoride treatments
  • Take and develop dental X-rays
  • Provide oral hygiene instruction and patient education
  • Offer nutrition and dietary guidance related to oral health
  • Review and update medical and dental histories
  • Measure and record patient vital signs (e.g., blood pressure)
  • Accurately document dental conditions and procedures
  • Complete charge entry and clinical documentation in EHR system
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments
  • Support preventive care programs and patient engagement
  • Assist with supervision or guidance of dental hygiene students (as needed)
  • Maintain strict infection control and safety standards
  • Handle medications in accordance with clinical protocols

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene (required)
  • Active Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in the state of South Carolina (required)
  • New graduates welcome; 1 year of experience preferred
  • Familiarity with dental EHR systems (or willingness to learn)
  • Strong communication and patient education skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care
