Job Title: Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist

Location: Battle Creek, MI 49015, United States
Shift: Day Shift

  • Monday & Wednesday: 07:00 AM – 05:00 PM
  • Tuesday & Thursday: 07:00 AM – 03:00 PM
  • Friday: 07:00 AM – 11:00 AM

Schedule: 5 days per week (varies)
Weekly Hours: Approximately 32–36 hours
Contract Duration: 18 weeks


Job Summary

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist to support a dynamic occupational health and family care environment. The ideal candidate will contribute to both clinical and administrative operations, ensuring efficient patient flow and high-quality care delivery. This role requires strong hands-on clinical skills along with excellent communication and organizational abilities.


Key Responsibilities

Clinical / Patient Care Support:

  • Room patients and record vital signs
  • Perform venipuncture/phlebotomy and administer vaccines
  • Conduct EKGs and point-of-care (POC) testing
  • Assist with general clinical procedures and patient care needs

Front & Back Office Duties:

  • Schedule patient appointments and manage daily patient flow
  • Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in EMR systems

Communication & Coordination:

  • Collaborate effectively with clinical and administrative teams
  • Provide clear communication to patients and healthcare staff
  • Support patient education and outreach activities

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 2–3 years of Medical Assistant experience (externship not included)
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy/venipuncture required
  • Experience with EKGs, POC testing, scheduling, and patient rooming
  • Familiarity with both front and back office operations
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Basic computer and EMR system proficiency
  • Current BLS or CPR certification required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant Certification (strongly preferred)
  • Prior Occupational Health experience is a plus
