Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Product Manager to join a dynamic security engineering team within the IT division. The role focuses on driving the strategy, design, deployment, and maintenance of security solutions across cloud, local, and hybrid environments. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to security engineering initiatives at an impactful organization.


Key Responsibilities

  • Product Backlog Management: Define, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog for security engineering initiatives such as cloud security, identity and access management (IAM), security tooling, and automation.
  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather and synthesize requirements for security initiatives. Translate these requirements into clear product and process documentation.
  • Security Engineering Focus: Focus on product/process requirements related to security engineering, vulnerability management, cloud security, zero trust, and DevSecOps.
  • Roadmap Development: Develop product roadmaps to improve security engineering automation tools, driving measurable improvements in efficiency and risk reduction.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Manage communication with stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparency around roadmap progress and outcomes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Measure outcomes, gather feedback, and use data to inform continuous improvements in processes and services.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Help translate regulatory and cybersecurity requirements (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework) into actionable product and process decisions.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 4 years focused on security engineering teams.
  • Security Expertise: Strong understanding of security concepts such as IAM, cloud security, network security design, security operations, DevSecOps, data loss protection, and vulnerability management.
  • Federal Cybersecurity Knowledge: Experience with federal cybersecurity standards and frameworks, including NIST SP 800-53, OMB Memorandum M-22-09.
  • Agile Methodologies: Demonstrated experience working in Agile environments and collaborating with engineering and DevOps teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Deep analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve complex security challenges independently.
  • Stakeholder Management: Proven track record of managing both technical and non-technical stakeholders and aligning cross-functional teams.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex security concepts into clear product requirements for various audiences.

Personnel Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in IT or a related field, or equivalent software engineering experience.
  • Experience: Extensive experience working with engineering teams, enterprise architects, and defining product strategy for security engineering-related initiatives.
  • DevOps Tools Knowledge: Strong knowledge of DevOps tools and processes.
