Job Title: Staff Pharmacist

Location: Hyannis, MA 02601
Duration: 13 Weeks
Employment Type: Contract
Shift: Nights / Evening (10x4 Schedule)
Schedule: 40 hours/week (Primarily 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM; occasional 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM; every other weekend & holidays)


Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Staff Pharmacist to support hospital pharmacy operations. This role is responsible for preparing, dispensing, and managing medications in compliance with regulatory standards, while ensuring optimal patient care and safety.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, dispense, and control medications in accordance with federal/state laws and organizational policies
  • Review medication orders for accuracy, dosage, interactions, and therapeutic appropriateness
  • Compound sterile and non-sterile preparations including IV admixtures and TPN
  • Supervise and guide pharmacy technicians and support staff
  • Ensure proper labeling, storage, and handling of medications
  • Provide drug information and consultation to healthcare providers
  • Manage medication distribution across patient care units
  • Support order entry, clinical verification, and after-hours pharmacy services
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory standards
  • Deliver high-quality service to patients, staff, and stakeholders

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited pharmacy program (PharmD preferred)
  • Active and current Pharmacist license in the state of Massachusetts
  • Experience in hospital or clinical pharmacy setting preferred
  • Strong knowledge of medications, drug interactions, and pharmacy practices
  • Proficiency with pharmacy systems and equipment
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
