Job Title: Registered Nurse – Operating Room

Location: Ithaca, NY

Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: Day Shift

Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts per week

Hours: 36 hours/week

On-Call Requirement: Required

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to provide high-quality perioperative nursing care. The RN will support surgical teams by ensuring safe, efficient, and patient-centered care throughout all phases of surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care in the operating room using the nursing process
  • Prepare and maintain sterile environments for surgical procedures
  • Assist surgeons and surgical teams during procedures
  • Monitor patient status before, during, and after surgery
  • Ensure proper handling and use of surgical instruments and equipment
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation
  • Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards
  • Participate in on-call rotation as required

Requirements:

  • Active RN license
  • Recent experience in an Operating Room (OR) setting required
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and sterile techniques
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) preferred
  • ACLS and/or CNOR certification preferred
