Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) – Outpatient Surgery provides pre-operative and post-anesthesia care to patients in an ambulatory surgical setting. This role requires strong clinical skills in patient assessment, recovery monitoring, and coordination of care in a fast-paced outpatient environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pre-operative and post-anesthesia (PACU) nursing care.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions before and after procedures.
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy as needed.
• Monitor patients during recovery and respond to complications.
• Educate patients and families on pre- and post-procedure care.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and healthcare teams.
• Document patient care using systems such as Epic Systems.

Schedule & Work Environment

• Day shifts (8-hour shifts within 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
• Full-time schedule (5 days per week)
• Occasional weekend requirement
• Outpatient / ambulatory surgical setting
• No on-call requirement
• No floating required
• No scheduling accommodations available

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (state-specific, required at submission)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Pre-Op and PACU
• Experience in an ambulatory setting preferred
• Certifications required:
  • BLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
