Job Summary

The Developer/Programmer Analyst Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing web-based applications using rapid prototyping methodologies. This role involves close collaboration with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and user-friendly applications.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and develop design documents and SQL-driven screen prototypes.
  • Present prototypes to end users, gather feedback, and iterate designs based on usability and functionality requirements.
  • Convert approved prototypes into fully functional web-based applications using Adobe ColdFusion.
  • Develop module specifications, unit test plans, and system/integration test requirements.
  • Implement applications in iterative development cycles, ensuring accessibility and usability for all users, including those using assistive technologies like JAWS and NVDA.
  • Create flowcharts, models, and technical designs; perform enhancements based on testing and user feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with World Wide Web Consortium standards and best practices.
  • Develop program modules and maintain high-quality technical and user documentation.
  • Perform acceptance testing and implement necessary changes before production release.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in web application development.
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Adobe ColdFusion (including Fusebox 5 or newer methodology)
    • JavaScript and SQL
    • Oracle Database and PL/SQL development
  • Experience building browser-based transactional and reporting applications.
  • Knowledge of web application security and secure coding practices.
  • Experience generating PDF documents within web applications.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Data modeling and entity-relationship diagrams
    • Database concepts such as referential integrity and normalization
    • User interface design for web applications
  • Ability to work in a multi-developer, configuration-controlled environment.
