Job Title: Senior Developer – Level III

Desired Location: Los Angeles, CA

Duration: Contract (7 Months)


Job Summary

The Senior Developer (Level III) will lead the design, development, and optimization of data reporting and data lake solutions. This role focuses on complex architecture, data transformation, and stakeholder alignment, leveraging modern cloud and data technologies.


Key Responsibilities

Data Development & Reporting

  • Define and document technical requirements for reporting solutions, including tables, views, report designs, and test plans.
  • Develop and maintain complex SQL queries, tables, and views to support reporting and visualization tools.
  • Collaborate across all phases of the development lifecycle: requirements gathering, design, testing, implementation, and support.
  • Conduct unit testing and support user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure data accuracy and functionality.

Database & Data Modeling

  • Design and enhance data models aligned with business requirements.
  • Maintain documentation for database structures, standards, and methodologies.
  • Lead SQL design sessions and code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices.

Cloud & Data Engineering

  • Design and implement data lake solutions using cloud technologies.
  • Develop inbound and outbound data integration pipelines.
  • Build scalable data workflows using tools such as:
    • Snowflake
    • dbt
    • Amazon Web Services services including Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, and Transfer tools
    • Fivetran

Architecture & Strategy

  • Define and implement modern data architecture strategies, including layered data models (e.g., Bronze/Silver/Gold).
  • Lead migration strategies from legacy systems to modern cloud-based platforms.
  • Establish development standards, CI/CD pipelines, and best practices for data engineering.
  • Implement security and access controls, including role-based access frameworks.

Stakeholder Management & Leadership

  • Act as a key point of contact for critical production issues and data discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with business stakeholders to translate technical solutions into business outcomes.
  • Lead UAT processes and ensure alignment with business requirements.
  • Manage project cutover planning and go-live execution.
  • Provide mentorship and training to team members on development standards and processes.
  • Lead and coordinate offshore team deliverables.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in data development, with strong expertise in dbt and Snowflake.
  • Advanced SQL development and data modeling skills.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms and data lake architectures.
  • Proficiency with development tools such as:
    • Git
    • Visual Studio Code
  • Strong understanding of data integration, ETL/ELT processes, and pipeline orchestration.
  • Experience with modern data architecture patterns and best practices.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with large-scale data migration projects.
  • Familiarity with reporting and visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI.
  • Knowledge of enterprise data governance and security practices.
