Schedule

• Shift: Evening Shift
• Timing: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
• Weekly Hours: 40 hours
• No block scheduling

Job Overview

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician in a correctional healthcare setting. This role involves administering medications, monitoring patient conditions, and ensuring care is delivered safely and in compliance with facility protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients/inmates under supervision
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Monitor, record, and report changes in patient condition
• Perform clinical procedures such as catheterization and suctioning
• Assist with IV therapy and blood product administration (as trained)
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
• Follow infection control and safety protocols
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and correctional staff
• Respond to medical emergencies as needed
• Ensure patient care is delivered in a safe and ethical manner

Qualifications

Education

• Diploma or certification from an accredited Practical Nursing program

Licensure and Certification

• Active New York State LPN License (required)

Experience and Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of LPN experience post-licensure
• Ability to work in a correctional healthcare environment
• Strong knowledge of basic nursing procedures
• Ability to follow clinical guidelines and work under supervision
