Job Title: Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery

Location: Fort Myers, FL
Assignment Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks (High possibility of extension)
Shift: 12-Hour Day Shifts
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive care to mothers and newborns before, during, and immediately after childbirth. This is a fast-paced, high-acuity environment requiring strong clinical expertise, critical thinking, and compassionate patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to laboring patients and newborns
• Monitor maternal and fetal status throughout labor and delivery
• Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy as prescribed
• Interpret fetal monitoring strips and respond appropriately
• Support patients and families with education and emotional care
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and interdisciplinary teams
• Document patient care accurately using EMR systems
• Respond effectively to obstetric emergencies

Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of Labor & Delivery experience
• Prior travel experience required
• Experience with patient ratios of 1:1 to 2:1
• Proficiency with Epic EMR system
• Degree accreditation must be included in profile OR minimum 5 years of experience required

Certifications Required

• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (required)

Preferred Qualifications

• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certification
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) Certification
