Job Title: Mental Health Coordinator – Correctional Facility
Location: Eden (76837)
Job Type: Contract (13 Weeks)
Schedule: 5x8 – Day Shift


Position Summary

The Mental Health Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering clinical mental health services within a secure correctional facility. This role focuses on providing non-medical mental health care, including assessments, treatment planning, counseling, and crisis intervention.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to deliver high-quality care while maintaining professionalism in a structured environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments through clinical interviews and record reviews
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans based on patient needs
  • Provide ongoing therapeutic services, including counseling and behavioral interventions
  • Deliver crisis intervention and support for acute mental health concerns
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, and clinical interactions
  • Ensure strict confidentiality of patient information in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Apply evidence-based practices and psychological theories in treatment delivery
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans to achieve optimal outcomes

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related clinical field from an accredited institution

Licensure:

  • Active and unrestricted state license in one of the following:
    • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
    • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license (if required by contract)

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience
  • At least two (2) years in a similar or related role
  • Strong knowledge of mental health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning
  • Proven ability to provide counseling and crisis intervention in structured environments
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and organizational skills
  • High level of professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality
