Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room (OR)
Location: Sugar Land, TX
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 5x8s (6:45 AM – 3:15 PM)


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality perioperative care in a fast-paced surgical environment. The RN will collaborate with physicians and the surgical team to ensure safe, effective, and efficient patient care throughout all phases of surgery.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare operating rooms by ensuring all instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterile and ready
  • Assist surgeons and surgical teams before, during, and after procedures
  • Maintain strict aseptic and sterile techniques throughout surgeries
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs and condition during procedures
  • Conduct pre-operative assessments, including patient verification and consent review
  • Provide intraoperative care, including proper patient positioning and safety measures
  • Perform surgical counts (instruments, sponges, supplies) before and after procedures
  • Administer medications and support anesthesia processes within scope of practice
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and healthcare staff
  • Respond to surgical emergencies and complications promptly
  • Ensure proper functioning of surgical equipment and report issues
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and procedures
  • Provide post-operative care and assist with patient transfer to recovery units
  • Educate patients and families on procedures and recovery when needed
  • Follow all safety standards, policies, and regulatory guidelines

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Operating Room (OR) nursing experience
  • BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical procedures
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment
