Job Title: Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR RN)

Location: San Marcos, TX

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to support both adult and pediatric surgical services. The ideal candidate will have strong perioperative skills, prior travel experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-specialty surgical environment.

Shift Details:

• Wednesday: 10:30 AM – 11:00 PM
• Thursday & Friday: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
• On-call required (varied schedule including evening, overnight, and backup call)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide perioperative nursing care in the Operating Room
• Assist with pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative procedures
• Maintain sterile field and ensure adherence to aseptic techniques
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams
• Prepare and manage surgical equipment and supplies
• Monitor patient status throughout surgical procedures
• Document all patient care activities accurately in EMR
• Float to other units or campuses as required

Requirements:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) License (state-specific)
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience
• Pediatric (PEDS) experience required
• BLS certification required
• CNOR preferred
• Prior travel experience highly preferred
• Degree accreditation must be included in profile OR minimum 5 years of experience

Work Requirements:

• Call requirement averages ~4 shifts per month (varied formats: evening, overnight, backup call)
• Must be comfortable with high-acuity surgical cases
• Floating required based on facility needs
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• All Requested Time Off (RTO) must be declared at submission
