Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU Step Down
Location: Elmhurst, NY
Pay Rate: $55.00 – $65.00 per hour
Weekly Hours: 36 hours

Schedule:

• Shift: Night Shift
• Timing: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Duration: 14 weeks (with strong potential for extension or permanent placement)

Job Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU Step Down to provide care for patients transitioning from the ICU who require close monitoring but are not critically unstable. This role involves managing complex medical conditions and responding effectively to changes in patient status in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients transitioning from ICU to step-down unit
• Monitor patients using equipment such as cardiac monitors, ventilators, feeding tubes, and catheters
• Conduct frequent patient assessments and promptly report changes in condition
• Respond to cardiac arrest and rapid response situations
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy
• Perform phlebotomy and assist with procedures as needed
• Provide care for patients with tracheostomies and respiratory needs
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and records
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
• Ensure patient safety and adherence to clinical protocols

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (State of New York)
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited program
• Graduation from an accredited nursing school
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of ICU or Step-Down (Med/Surg SD) experience
• Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience
• Minimum 2 years of conscious sedation experience
• Experience with high-acuity patients and critical monitoring
• Demonstrated competency in age-specific patient care (young adult to geriatric)
