Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – ECMO Specialist

Location: Minneapolis, MN
Shift: Night Shift – 3x12 Hours (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
Duration: 13 Weeks


Job Summary:

Seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – ECMO Specialist to provide advanced respiratory care in a critical care setting. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience managing ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) systems and supporting high-acuity adult patients.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor ECMO circuits and patients
  • Provide advanced respiratory therapy in critical care environments
  • Perform airway management including intubation assist and suctioning
  • Manage ventilators and assist with weaning protocols
  • Administer respiratory medications and therapies
  • Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and interpretation
  • Assist with bronchoscopy and pulmonary hygiene
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams
  • Float to other units as required

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
  • Active State License (must be active by start date)
  • Minimum 2+ years of RRT experience
  • Minimum 1 year of ECMO Specialist experience (required)
  • Strong experience in adult critical care settings

Required Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • PALS (AHA)
  • RRT Certification

Clinical Skills Required:

  • ECMO Management (required)
  • Ventilator Management (BiPAP, CPAP, SIMV, weaning)
  • Airway Management (ET tube, trach care, suctioning, intubation assist)
  • Oxygen Therapy (HFNC, trach collar, T-piece, portable O2)
  • Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) interpretation and collection
  • Nebulizer therapy and aerosol delivery systems
  • Medication administration (bronchodilators, steroids, nitric oxide, etc.)
  • Pulmonary hygiene and chest physiotherapy
