Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Location: Hackensack, NJ
Shift: Night Shift – 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Duration: 13 Weeks

Job Summary:

Seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor & Delivery (L&D) to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to mothers and newborns. The RN will be responsible for managing laboring patients, assisting with deliveries, and ensuring safe, high-quality care throughout the perinatal process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for laboring patients
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs
• Assist physicians during labor, delivery, and postpartum care
• Provide patient education and emotional support to patients and families
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage patient care
• Document patient care in accordance with clinical standards
• Respond to obstetric emergencies and coordinate care with the healthcare team
• Advocate for evidence-based practices and patient safety

Required Qualifications:

• Active RN License (state or compact)
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
• Experience working in an acute care hospital setting
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

Required Certifications:

• BLS (AHA)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program – AHA)

Preferred Certifications:

• ACLS (AHA)
• AWHONN / EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Experience with EPIC EMR system
