Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $93,000 – $140,000 annually (based on experience)
  • Sign-On Bonus: $15,000
  • Incentive Bonus: Up to 17.5%

Job Summary

A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Hospital Laboratory Director to oversee and manage all laboratory operations. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring high-quality laboratory services, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and staff development within a complex clinical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee all laboratory operations, programs, and services
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accrediting bodies (e.g., CAP, CLIA, JCAHO, FDA, CMS)
  • Lead staffing initiatives including recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development for laboratory personnel
  • Develop and implement departmental strategies to meet quality, service, and financial goals
  • Manage laboratory budgets, financial performance, and resource utilization
  • Prepare and present Monthly Operating Review reports
  • Establish, review, and update policies and procedures regularly
  • Oversee vendor relationships and supply chain management
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and teamwork
  • Delegate responsibilities effectively to ensure operational efficiency

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field (required)
  • Master’s Degree (preferred)

Certifications & Licensure:

  • National Certification as a Medical Technologist (required)
  • Active state licensure (if applicable)

Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive laboratory management experience
  • Experience in hospital or complex clinical laboratory settings preferred
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
