Duration: 13 Weeks Contract

Description

Shift:

• Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Schedule:

• 4 x 12-hour shifts (48 hours/week)
• Every other weekend required

Role Overview

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a step-down unit (PCU/MSDU) to provide high-quality care to adult acute care patients. The role involves patient monitoring, medication administration, and emergency response in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a step-down (intermediate care) unit
• Monitor patients using telemetry and pulse oximetry
• Perform cardiac monitoring and interpret dysrhythmias
• Respond to emergencies using Rapid Response/Code teams
• Administer IV therapy, manage peripheral lines, and perform phlebotomy
• Provide respiratory support including oxygen therapy and non-invasive airway management
• Manage patients with arterial lines, central lines, and titrated IV infusions
• Follow infection control and isolation protocols
• Float between assignments based on patient care needs
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:7 in Med-Surg settings
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and adapt to changing patient needs

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in PCU/MSDU
• Active NY RN license (must be in hand)
• EPIC experience required
• BLS certification required
• Ability to manage 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio

• 16 hours orientation (non-billable)
