Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: $87/hour
  • Weekly Gross: Approximately $3,000
  • Weekly Stipend: $2,415

Schedule

  • Shift: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
  • Guaranteed Hours: 34.5 hours/week

Job Summary

The MRI Technologist is responsible for operating specialized imaging equipment to perform high-quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to ensure patient safety while producing diagnostic-quality images in accordance with established protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MRI procedures in accordance with established protocols
  • Position patients and coils to obtain optimal imaging results
  • Educate patients regarding MRI procedures and safety requirements
  • Review patient safety questionnaires prior to MRI procedures
  • Ensure all images are properly labeled and transmitted to PACS
  • Evaluate images for technical quality and diagnostic usability
  • Maintain accurate documentation in Radiology Information Systems (RIS/IDX)
  • Schedule exams and manage patient imaging records as required
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of MRI suite and equipment
  • Monitor inventory of supplies and ensure availability of necessary materials
  • Identify and report equipment issues or unsafe conditions
  • Assist physicians during procedures when required
  • Adhere to MRI safety standards, including prevention of ferromagnetic exposure
  • Follow infection control protocols to ensure patient and staff safety
  • Participate in in-services and ongoing professional development
  • Perform clerical duties as needed in the absence of support staff

Required Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, MRI physics, and physical sciences
  • Excellent technical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to ensure patient safety and deliver high-quality imaging services

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of MRI experience
  • Experience working in a hospital or high-volume imaging environment

  • Image evaluation and quality control
  • Knowledge of PACS and Radiology Information Systems (RIS/IDX)
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
