Position: EEG Technician – Contract

Location: Syracuse, NY 13210
Unit: Neurodiagnostics / EEG
Duration: 14 Weeks

Schedule:

  • Shift: Day Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
  • Days: Monday – Friday + Every Other Weekend
  • Hours: 42.5 hours/week

Compensation:

  • Travel Pay: $60 – $67/hour (based on experience)
  • Local Pay: $50 – $55/hour (based on experience)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled EEG Technician to perform routine electroencephalograms (EEGs) in accordance with established guidelines. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate data collection, patient safety, and high-quality neurodiagnostic services across all age groups.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine EEG procedures for patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric populations.
  • Apply electrodes and ensure proper data acquisition.
  • Record, edit, and prepare EEG data for physician interpretation.
  • Analyze EEG waveforms and document findings accurately.
  • Manage and review 24-hour EEG recordings.
  • Maintain EEG equipment, ensuring proper functionality.
  • Stock acquisition stations and report any equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintain equipment logs and adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Provide appropriate patient and family interaction and education.

Work Setting:

  • Hospital-based neurodiagnostics department
  • Inpatient and outpatient EEG services

Required Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of EEG experience required

Education:

  • Completion of a neurodiagnostic/EEG training program

Certifications:

  • Registered EEG Technician (required)
  • BLS/CPR Certification required

Required Skills:

  • Strong computer and documentation skills
  • Knowledge of ASET guidelines
  • Ability to analyze EEG patterns and waveforms
  • Strong communication and critical thinking skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU)

Additional Information:

  • Pre-employment health clearance required
  • Fully onsite position (0% remote)
  • Candidates must be flexible to work weekdays and rotating weekends
