Job Title: Special Education Teacher Assistant (SPED)
Location: Leesburg, VA 20176
Job Type: Contract (11 Weeks)
Schedule:
Monday to Friday
Hours: 8:50 AM – 3:40 PM
Meal Break: 30 minutes
Pay Rate: $20 – $25 per hour
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education (SPED) Teacher Assistant to support students and classroom instruction. This role is essential in fostering a structured, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for students with diverse learning needs.
Assist the lead teacher in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Provide one-on-one and small group support to students
Support classroom management and promote positive behavior
Assist students with academic tasks, assignments, and activities
Help with daily living activities as required
Monitor student progress and communicate observations to the teacher
Prepare instructional materials and classroom resources
Ensure student safety and well-being at all times
Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to support student success
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred
Prior experience working with children or individuals with special needs preferred
Basic understanding of special education practices and support strategies
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patient, empathetic, and student-focused approach
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team
Good organizational and classroom management skills
