Surgical Technologist (CVOR – Pediatric Heart Team)

Shift: Days with rotating weekends
Salary Range: $41.21 – $61.82/hour (based on experience)
Position Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join a specialized Pediatric Heart Surgical Team. This role provides the opportunity to support advanced cardiovascular procedures in a high-acuity pediatric setting. The position offers structured scheduling, strong clinical exposure, and opportunities for long-term career growth within a leading healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and scrub for cardiovascular and pediatric heart surgical procedures following AORN and AST standards
Assist surgeons during procedures, maintaining sterile field and workflow efficiency
Participate in on-call rotations as required
Operate sterilizers and surgical equipment according to manufacturer guidelines
Support OR efficiency through case cart preparation, room turnover, and inventory management
Maintain and update surgeon preference cards and supplies
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality patient care
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and departmental goals
Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment and assist in training/supporting team members
Education & Experience
Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Heart Surgery (CVOR) experience
Minimum 2 years of Surgical Technologist experience
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (or military equivalent)
Licensure & Certifications
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
Current BCLS (AHA) Certification
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of cardiovascular and pediatric surgical procedures
Proficiency in sterile techniques and operating room protocols
Ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced surgical environments
Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and continuous improvement
