Desired Location: Rochester, New York
Job Type: Contract (13 Weeks)
Shift: Day Shift – 3x12 Hours (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit in an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing patient assignments with RN support and delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Provide direct patient care in a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit
Monitor and document vital signs, intake/output, and patient conditions
Administer medications via multiple routes (oral, IM, SQ, NG/G-tube, etc.)
Perform wound care, specimen collection, and Foley catheter insertion
Assist with feeding tube management and oxygen therapy
Monitor telemetry and perform 12-lead EKGs
Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC EMR system
Communicate patient status changes to RN and physicians
Follow infection control and safety protocols
Float to other units within scope as needed
COPD exacerbation
Infections
Failure to thrive
General medical and social cases
Active New York State LPN License (must be in hand)
BLS Certification required
Minimum recent acute care experience (within last 2 years)
Experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry settings
Proficiency with EPIC EMR system
