Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) – School Setting
Location: Thornton, CO
Duration: 8 Weeks

Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM | Monday – Friday (5x8)
Hours: 40–42.5 hours per week
Pay Range: $38 – $43/hour (based on experience)

Position Overview:

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant for an exciting Travel or Local job in Thornton, CO.

Qualifications

  • Active COTA license in the state of Colorado
  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Experience in a school setting (elementary preferred)
  • Experience working across multiple locations/teams is a plus
  • Strong understanding of pediatric therapy and developmental milestones
  • Familiarity with IEP processes preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Occupational Therapist (OT) in implementing individualized treatment plans for students
  • Provide therapy services aligned with IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals
  • Support development of fine motor, sensory processing, and daily living skills
  • Travel between 4 school locations (3 schools 1 day/week each and 1 school 2 days/week)
  • Document therapy sessions, student progress, and outcomes accurately
  • Adapt therapy techniques and materials to meet individual needs
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Maintain a safe and supportive therapy environment
  • Monitor and report student progress to the supervising OT

Additional Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with school and state regulations
  • Maintain organized documentation and manage schedules across sites
  • Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and school staff
  • Assist with adaptive equipment and classroom strategies
  • Participate in IEP meetings and team discussions as needed
  • Follow safety and infection control protocols
