Pay Rate: $55 – $60/hour (based on experience)
We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Technician (CST) to support surgical teams in a fast-paced operating room environment. The CST will perform scrub and circulating duties under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, ensuring sterile technique, patient safety, and efficient surgical workflow.
Perform surgical scrub, gowning, and gloving procedures following aseptic standards.
Prepare and maintain sterile instrument tables and surgical supplies for procedures.
Assist surgeons by anticipating needs for instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies.
Maintain accurate counts of instruments, needles, and sponges in collaboration with the circulating nurse.
Ensure strict adherence to sterile technique and address contamination issues promptly.
Assist with patient positioning and transfers using approved equipment.
Handle and label surgical specimens in accordance with policy.
Support OR setup, turnover, and equipment cleaning/decontamination.
Assist with circulating duties to maintain a safe and sterile environment.
Support medication preparation and labeling under RN supervision.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience required
Education:
High School Diploma required
Completion of an accredited CST Training Program required
Certifications & Licensure:
Certified Surgical Technician (CST) certification required
Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and infection control practices
Familiarity with surgical instruments and operating room protocols
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment
Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills
