Job Title: Charge Nurse (RN) – Skilled Nursing / Long-Term Care

Location: Bangor, ME
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift (4x10-Hour Shifts)
Schedule: Monday – Thursday | 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM


Compensation:

  • Weekly Gross Pay: $2,000 – $2,300 (based on experience)


Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Charge Nurse (RN) to provide leadership and clinical oversight in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) / Long-Term Care (LTC) setting. This role involves coordinating patient care, supporting staff, and ensuring high-quality outcomes while assisting leadership in achieving organizational goals.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Nursing in achieving departmental and organizational objectives

  • Serve as Charge Nurse, unit resource, and quality management coordinator

  • Provide administrative support in the absence of the Director

  • Coordinate and oversee nursing care for assigned residents/patients

  • Lead the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care

  • Educate patients/residents and their families on care plans

  • Supervise and collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams

  • Ensure patient/resident privacy, safety, and regulatory compliance

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation


Required Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) License (Maine or Compact)

  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or equivalent


Required Experience:

  • Experience in Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Long-Term Care (LTC) settings

  • Strong leadership and team coordination experience


Key Skills:

  • Leadership and staff supervision

  • Clinical decision-making and patient care coordination

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards in LTC/SNF settings


Work Environment:

  • Skilled Nursing / Long-Term Care facility

  • Collaborative, patient-centered care environment


Additional Information:

  • Reports directly to the Director of Nursing (or designee)

  • Ideal candidate should be organized, proactive, and capable of leading a team effectively
