Position: O.R. Technician (CST) – Contract
Location: Brooklyn, NY 11234
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Mon–Fri, 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM (40 hrs/week)
Pay Rate: $45 – $50/hr
Job Summary:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a certified Surgical Technician (CST) with 2+ years of recent operating room experience. The O.R. Technician assists the surgical team by performing scrub and circulating duties, maintaining sterile technique, preparing instruments, handling specimens, and supporting patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform surgical scrub, gowning, and gloving; set up sterile instruments and supplies.
Assist in draping patients, anticipating surgeon needs, and maintaining counts of sponges, needles, and instruments.
Support circulating nurse in preparing the operative area, equipment, and medications (under RN supervision).
Ensure adherence to aseptic technique, patient safety, and OSHA guidelines.
Handle specimens, apply dressings, transfer patients, and assist with post-operative room clean-up.
Maintain operating room organization and update preference cards as needed.
Qualifications:
High School diploma required; coursework in OR technology, biology, chemistry preferred.
CST Certification required.
Minimum 2 years of operating room experience.
Strong communication skills in English (speak, read, write).
Physical stamina, dexterity, and attention to detail.
