Assignment Details

  • Duration: 10 Weeks (High possibility of extension)

  • Schedule: 40 Hours per Week

  • Shift: Mixed Day & Evening Shifts

    • 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

    • 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

  • Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday required

  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours per Week

Compensation

  • Travel Pay: $50 – $54 per hour (for candidates residing more than 50 miles from the facility)

Position Summary

A healthcare facility in Falmouth, MA is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN / LVN) for a contract assignment. The LPN will provide direct nursing care to residents while supervising the daily activities of nursing assistants.

The role requires maintaining high standards of resident care while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing long-term care facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care and supervise nursing assistants during daily clinical activities

  • Plan and coordinate shift activities, services, and resident care programs

  • Complete required documentation for resident admission, transfer, and discharge

  • Record and transcribe physician orders, treatment plans, and medication instructions

  • Maintain accurate nursing notes and clinical documentation reflecting patient care and responses

  • Prepare and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians

  • Perform clinical procedures such as:

    • Catheterization

    • Tube feedings

    • Suctioning

    • Wound care and dressing changes

    • Colostomy and drainage care

    • Range of motion exercises

  • Collect patient specimens including blood, urine, and sputum for laboratory testing

  • Monitor and record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure

  • Ensure adequate medical supplies, medications, and equipment are available for resident care

  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams regarding treatment and care plans

  • Provide health education to residents and family members regarding care and treatment plans

  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality and compliance with healthcare privacy regulations

Required Qualifications

  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN / LVN) License – Massachusetts

  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in a hospital or clinical setting

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
