Location: Syracuse, NY
Contract Length: 13 Weeks (Possible Extension)
Schedule: Day Shift | 3 × 12-hour shifts | 36 hours per week
Travelers: $60/hour
Local Candidates: $50/hour
A healthcare facility in Syracuse, NY is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Unit.
The LPN will assist in providing patient care for children and adolescents (ages 5–17) while supporting physicians and the healthcare team in an acute care inpatient setting.
Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN)
Monitor and record vital signs and patient progress
Assist physicians during examinations and procedures
Administer medications and injections as directed
Prepare exam rooms and maintain clinical areas
Assist with patient scheduling, documentation, and chart preparation
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff
Support a safe and therapeutic environment for pediatric psychiatric patients
Active New York State LPN License
Minimum 1 year of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) experience
Experience in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (ages 5–17)
CPR Certification
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Inpatient psychiatric care experience
Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
Must be willing to work every other weekend
Some holiday coverage may be required
