Position Overview

A leading healthcare facility in Honolulu is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join its Inpatient Acute Care Rehabilitation team. The SLP will evaluate and treat patients experiencing speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support patient recovery and safe discharge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders

  • Perform clinical assessments and implement individualized therapy plans

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, and rehabilitation staff

  • Assist with discharge planning and functional recovery goals

  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records

  • Utilize specialized tools such as FEES, VitalStim, endoscopic evaluation, and augmentative communication devices

Minimum Qualifications

  • State License as a Speech-Language Pathologist

  • ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP)

  • BLS / CPR Certification

  • Completion of FEES (Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallow) training or ability to complete within 6 months of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in an acute care or hospital setting

  • Experience treating adult swallowing, communication, and cognitive disorders

  • Familiarity with FEES and Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) procedures
