Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) with experience in Medical Surgical and Telemetry care to join a busy acute care hospital unit. The LPN will work collaboratively with Registered Nurses and the healthcare team to provide quality patient care, monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and assist with clinical procedures.


Shift & Scheduling

  • Schedule: 4x12-hour night shifts

  • Shift Time: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

  • Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work every other holiday if required

  • First-Time Travelers: Accepted


Required License & Certifications

  • Active New York LPN License (Single State – NY is not compact)

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required


Required Clinical Experience

  • Acute Care experience within the last 2 years

  • Ability to manage own patient assignment with RN support


Clinical Skills Required

Candidates should have experience with the following:

Patient Care

  • Vital signs monitoring

  • Pain assessment

  • Intake and output monitoring

  • Isolation precautions

  • Physical restraints

  • Specimen labeling and collection

  • Oxygen administration via nasal cannula

  • Feeding tube management

Monitoring & Diagnostics

  • Telemetry monitoring

  • 12-Lead EKG

  • Blood glucose monitoring

Medication Administration

  • Oral medications

  • Intramuscular (IM) injections

  • Subcutaneous (SQ) injections

  • NG/G-tube medication administration

  • Ear and eye drop administration

  • IV therapy using pumps

Nursing Procedures

  • Basic wound care and dressing changes

  • JP / Hemovac drain management

  • Foley catheter insertion (male & female)

  • Clean catch urine collection

  • Bathing and oral care

  • Communicating patient status changes to RN and physicians
